Louis Hernandez Jr.has been the Found and Chairman of the Board of Digital Joy since April of 2022. He is an investor, entrepreneur, operator and philanthropist. Hernandez has a track record of transforming and diversifying companies through his unique methodology. He has orchestrated massive transformations of companies disrupted by advances in technology, driving performance, improving margins, and returning them to profitability. Hernandez has a deep understanding of how to extract value from operations, build effective strategies, value for the future, and has reshaped the global landscape for banking technology.
From early stage to large private equity transactions, Louis has guided leadership teams to create market leaders from high growth to complicated turnaround situations, and all forms of capital raising including multiple IPOs and related transactions and much more. His focus on diversity, partnering with management and solving complicated industry issues has been the hallmark of his investment approach. His extensive track record has led to featured guest appearances on CNBC, Fox Business, and Bloomberg TV to discuss topics ranging from technology, strategy, and economics.
As Founder, CEO and Managing Partner of private equity firm Black Dragon Capital, Louis combines his tech experience with his managerial background to find overlooked key technology segments which include sports and media technology, banking technology, digital commerce and cyber-security. With focus on diversity and operations, the firm uses a proprietary process to identify early stage start up opportunities or undervalued mid-market tech companies that could use the company’s “toolkit” to advance their growth, find opportunities in digitization, and lean on the expertise of Black Dragon’s team.
Through Black Dragon Capital, Louis is always seeking to help other entrepreneurs and management teams that stand where he once stood. Not only is he looking for great investment opportunities, but he’s also looking to pass down lessons to a new generation of business leaders through this venture.
